Anamosa's annual Pumpkinfest is one of fifteen United States sites and five in Canada, for the Great Pumpkin Commonwealth Weigh-off. The town, proclaimed the "Pumpkin Capital of Iowa," also has enough pumpkin events the first weekend in October to keep even the "Great Pumpkin" happy.
We have a new record for heaviest pumpkin: John Barlow of Gays Mills, Wisconsin. His entry weighed in at 1,159 pounds!
And the stakes are high in this great pumpkin search. The top three prizes range from $500 to $1500!
Pumpkin
winners ride in the annual parade plus there's food,
entertainment galore, contests and fun for everyone.
